The Faculty of Medicine (FK) at UPN 'Veteran' Jawa Timur specializes in Disaster Medicine, with a particular focus on disaster preparedness from a health perspective. This specialization was chosen given Indonesia's location within the 'Ring of Fire' and its status as one of the countries with the highest disaster occurrence rates in the world, while the general public often lacks sufficient preparedness. Consequently, FK UPN 'Veteran' Jawa Timur aims to produce top-tier doctors equipped with additional competencies in disaster medicine who are ready to serve the nation throughout the entire Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Disaster medicine itself is a discipline that combines emergency medicine and disaster management.
